Important Update on Ordering and Invoicing
As all my lovely clients will know, I have operated my ordering and invoicing processes from Day 1 on a trust basis. I've never asked for deposits, instead requiring full payment only on completion of your party.
I've received a lot of messages over the last week from customers and friends saying the they're thinking of me, as a small business in turbulent times. I'm really grateful for those - it's nice to know that so many of you care enough about Feeding Time to drop me a line like that.
I know that many of you who have booked parties in with me for the coming weeks will be worried about whether your event will be able to go ahead. The uncertainty is awful, and I really feel for you. The uncertainty also has a huge impact on this small business, and I just can't afford to absorb the cost of cancelled parties.
From today (16.3.20), I will be introducing a revised order and payment system. I'll keep this under review, and I don't for a moment imagine this will continue to be necessary once we are out of the coronavirus woods:
- To make a booking, please contact me, check my availability and then complete the order form as usual. Your booking will be confirmed on my receipt of your order form and I will not ask for a deposit.
- 14 days before your party I will ask you to confirm numbers and dietary requirements. (I have had to increase this period to allow enough time to source my supplies - it is proving impossible to find certain ingredients at the usual supermarkets). I will then issue my invoice and ask that 50% of that is paid at this stage. That payment will be non-refundable.
- If you cancel your party any time up to 72 hours before scheduled delivery, nothing further will be payable. I totally understand that you might need to cancel at short notice and I hope you understand that by this stage, I will have purchased all your ingredients and done a lot of the preparation work already. I never hold stock - everything I make is done to order, especially for your party.
- If you cancel on less than 72 hours' notice, the balance will be payable in full.
This policy will apply to all new and existing bookings for future dates. Thank you for your understanding - I've tried to be as flexible as I possibly can be!
